Barinder Sran: News

A left-arm medium-pacer, Barinder Sran made his ODI debut for the Indian cricket team against Australia in 2016. Admittedly low in experience and numbers in the first-class scene, Sran's international debut against Australia was nothing short of a dream as he picked the wickets of Aaron Finch, David Warner, and Steve Smith. After beginning his career as a boxer, Sran switched to playing cricket at the age of 17. His first-class debut was in the 2011-2012 season, in which he played for Punjab in the Ranji Trophy and T20s. His first big break came during a training camp he attended in Dubai, where he caught Rahul Dravid's attention. This led to him being bought by the Rajasthan Royals for the 2015 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. In the subsequent year, Sran played an important role in the title-winning run of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Despite not playing for India since 2016, Sran is still considered one of the hot prospects in the group of up-and-coming fast bowlers in India. The variations he can produce and the natural element of surprise associated with a left-handed pacer still make him very valuable for the future of the Indian cricket team.
